SAMPLE PROJECT · WEBSITE DESIGN DEMONSTRATION
A fictional home-service website showing how a clear service offer, simple navigation and enquiry flow can work together.
Demonstration only. This is a fictional example, not a paid client project. No measured outcomes are claimed.
BACKGROUND & PROBLEM
A fictional service business needs a website that explains its offer, answers common questions and makes enquiries easy.
Consider a visitor who needs a small home-service job and is comparing several providers. Before making contact, that person wants to know whether the business handles the work, what information is needed for a quote and what happens after an enquiry. The example starts with those questions and uses them to decide the page order.
The planning brief would collect the actual service list, areas served, contact preferences, operating hours and any exclusions from the business owner. Photographs, team information and qualifications would need to come from that business. A draft can reserve space for those details while making it clear which material still needs approval.
The proposed journey is simple: understand the offer on Home, read the relevant scope on Services and send a useful enquiry through Contact. The About page supports that decision with genuine business information. This gives every page a purpose that can be reviewed before choosing colours, images or additional features.
ROLE & SCOPE
Illustrative content, structure and deliverable planning for this portfolio. No live client implementation is represented.
CONTENT DEMONSTRATION
HERO
Say which service is offered, who it is for and how a customer can enquire.
For this sample, the opening copy would name the type of home service and explain the next step in one short paragraph. A visitor should be able to decide whether to read the service details or begin an enquiry. Claims about response times, experience or guarantees would appear only when the real business can support them.
The supporting image would show relevant work with permission. On a phone, the heading and enquiry button would stay readable before the visitor reaches the longer explanation.
SERVICE DETAILS
List the agreed tasks, exclusions and information needed for an accurate quote.
An example service description would explain the kind of job, the tasks included and any preparation the customer needs to arrange. It would also identify work that requires a separate discussion. That gives the visitor a useful reason to contact the business rather than guessing from a service name alone.
A short question list could cover availability, the quotation process and what details to send. Answers would be approved by the business owner so the website reflects the service that can actually be delivered.
CONTACT FLOW
Ask for the customer’s name, email, service needed and a short description.
The proposed form would ask for enough information to understand the request: the service needed, a short description and a reliable reply address. Fields would have visible labels; an example inside a field would not replace its label. Required information and any input error would be explained clearly.
After a successful submission, the confirmation should tell the visitor that the request was received and what to expect next. A launch check would verify delivery to the intended mailbox. This portfolio sample describes that check; it does not represent a working customer request system.

EVIDENCE & OUTCOME
This demonstration presents a content and layout approach. It is not a client engagement, and it has no measured traffic or business results.
The useful handover items for this example would be a page map, approved copy, a list of business details still needed and a checklist for the enquiry journey. A reviewer could compare those items with the original brief and see why each section was included. The three example cards above demonstrate the decisions behind an opening offer, a service explanation and a contact step.
Before adapting the plan for a real business, the owner would review all descriptions and provide authentic images and contact details. The implementation would then need a visual check on relevant devices, a keyboard check and an agreed test of form delivery. Those checks would be recorded with the actual page URL and date.
Any later report of enquiries, traffic or search visibility would need a defined measurement period and a verifiable source. The current sample supports discussion of the content and layout approach; performance reporting would belong to the real project after implementation.
The examples on this page are the demonstration itself. Real project screenshots, dates, role details and sourced metrics can replace this content later.
